Early Life and Football Career
Bennie Thompson was born on February 10, 1963. He played safety in the National Football League (NFL) from 1986 to 1995. Thompson spent his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and New Orleans Saints.
Political Career
After retiring from football, Thompson pursued a career in politics. He has represented Mississippi's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1993. Thompson currently serves as the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
NFL Career Statistics
During his NFL career, Thompson recorded 412 tackles, 23 interceptions, and three forced fumbles. He was named to the Pro Bowl twice in 1992 and 1993.
