Leverkusen - Former head coach of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen Bernd Knut celebrates his 70th birthday today, Saturday 22. October. Knut was responsible for the athletic development of many successful athletes, including decathlon world champion Arthur Abele and high jumper Mateusz Przybylko.
TSV Bayer Leverkusen is the top address in Germany for para-athletics. Athletes such as world and European champions Markus Rehm (long jump), Johannes Floors (sprint) and Niko Kappel (shot put) have made Leverkusen their sporting home. The club offers optimal training conditions and medical care for athletes with disabilities.
The Bayer Classics were originally a pure pole vault competition. In 2018, the Classics were expanded to become an international athletics competition. Since then, top athletes from all over the world have competed in Leverkusen. The Bayer Classics are now one of the most important athletics meetings in Germany.
